Martin Bluff Elementary School

My name is Dr. Victoria E. Hoover, and I am proud to serve my community as the principal of Martin Bluff Elementary! Giving back to the community and district that I grew up in brings me a great sense of pride. I attended PSD from grades 1-12. After graduation from Pascagoula High School, I attended the University of Southern Mississippi where I studied elementary education with an emphasis in literacy.  After student teaching at Arlington Elementary and Trent Lott Middle School, I obtained a position at Singing River Elementary. While teaching at SRE, I attended William Carey University where I earned a Master of Education degree and obtained National Board Certification.  I quickly realized I missed attending school and enrolled at the University of Southern Mississippi where I earned a Specialist in Educational Leadership degree followed by a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. In 2010, I served PSD as the principal of Jackson Elementary in Pascagoula. While I was at JES I was selected as the District Administrator of the Year which is one of my proudest moments in my career. Martin Bluff Elementary became my home in 2013. 

 

  My husband Chris and I are blessed by what PGSD has provided our 5 children who graduated from Gautier High and continues to provide our daughter who attends GHS. Our children have always kept us busy with soccer, band, clubs, choir, cheer, and volleyball. Our schedule doesn’t appear to be slowing down with only one child remaining in school and with the addition of three beautiful grandchildren. We reside right here in Gautier and are happy to call our community home.

 

    In my role as an elementary principal, I believe that with high expectations and team work, great things are accomplished.  With everyone working at their personal best, students gain the gift of a quality education.  It is my goal to work alongside my staff to produce successful, life-long learners. From my perspective as a parent, it is my goal to use my position here at MBE to make a positive contribution in your child’s educational career by demanding the best from our children while also showing them the love and compassion I hope my own children experience.
